Why is my shutter count "0" or missing?
Some manufacturers, especially on older or entry-level models, don't write shutter count to EXIF at all. Check our shutter count database for known limitations by model.
Does this work for smartphones?
Generally, no — smartphones don't use mechanical shutters, so they don't track actuations the same way DSLRs and mirrorless cameras do.
